Year 11 Parent Information Evening

Within the College's strategic direction for Teaching and Learning we have set out three goals in the areas of Student Learning, Curriculum and Staff.

1 - Student Learning

To develop a contemporary learning experience that is student centred, relevant, engaging and globally valued.

Strategies:

  • Ensure an improved, quality physical classroom environment.

  • Implement Changing the Senior School Year from October 2008.

  • Examine models for the introduction of a Middle School.

  • Develop and implement MyScotch as an integrated digital information service.

  • Develop and implement iHub which provides digital curriculum, technologies and information to teachers and students.

  • Develop and implement Project Oberon that includes information analysis and reporting allowing every teacher, student and parent access to interactive reports.

  • Explore the provision of 1:1 digital devices.

2 - Curriculum

To provide a blended contemporary, internationally acknowledged curriculum in order to develop globally prepared citizens.

Strategies:

  • Continue to develop appropriate co-curricular activities for students.

  • Develop "Scotch Assessment Tools" for Years 1-7 in Literacy and Numeracy that are linked to National Benchmarks. [UWA Collaboration]

  • Review and develop Junior School Curriculum based on Curriculum Framework and IBO Curriculum Guidelines.

  • Explore a range of teaching strategies and digital resources to deliver a differentiated curriculum.

  • Explore and implement the introduction of the International Baccalaureate's Diploma Programme for Senior School students.

3 - Staff

To attract, enrich and retain quality staff such that the College is regarded as a preferred employer.

Strategies:

  • Review, develop and implement Human Resources policies and procedures to attract, enrich and retain staff.

  • Continue to implement the Staff Appraisal Plan.

  • Develop and implement measures to ensure the sustainability of the Brinsden Programme - Enhancing Classroom Practice.
