Private School Scholarships in Perth
Scotch College offers a range of academic scholarships, bursaries and financial assistance for new and current students.
We are dedicated to supporting students' educational journeys by providing these scholarships, no matter if the recipients are in regional Western Australia, in another Australian state or territory, or international students. In addition to bursaries and financial assistance, we offer academic, music, boarding and indigenous scholarships. Each is designed to recognise students’ talents and help them fulfil their potential.

Year 7 Scholarships
Academic, Music and Boarding Scholarships
Each year, Scotch College offers a number of scholarships for Australian residents entering Year 7 in the following year.
Applicants must complete an academic entrance exam.
Applications for our Year 7, 2025 Academic, Music and Boarding scholarships are NOW CLOSED.
Application deadline: 19 February 2024
The following scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated academic excellence.
- J A Gooch Scholarship – awarded to an outstanding current Scotch College student
- G G Gooch Scholarship – awarded to an outstanding student from any school (outside of Scotch College)
- Open Entrance Scholarship – awarded to an outstanding student from any school (including Scotch College)
Each year Scotch College offers opportunities to outstanding students from rural areas to commence at the College as a Year 7 boarder.
Scholarships for our boarding school are available to students in regional Western Australia, as well as other Australian states and territories. We also offer Boarding Scholarships for international students who are Australian citizens. Our Boarding Houses are located on the Scotch College campus in Perth.

Please note only shortlisted Music Scholarship applicants will be eligible for an audition. These candidates will receive further information regarding their audition from the Head of Music, following the examination.
Applicants must sit an academic entrance examination at Scotch College or remotely at their current school.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview with the Headmaster and Director of Admissions, Engagement and Communications.

Indigenous Scholarships
Scotch College offers annual scholarships to Indigenous students entering Years 7 or 8.
Applicants are selected based on their current academic progress, leadership qualities and interest in tertiary study. The scholarships, along with ABSTUDY and parent contributions, cover tuition and boarding fees from Year 7 through to Year 12. Parents or guardians are required to contribute financially to the boys' social activities and events, as well as extra-curricular items such as musical instrument hire.
Applications for Indigenous Scholarships are NOW CLOSED.
Applicants must complete the application form and email it to the Indigenous Programme Administrator at scholarships@scotch.wa.edu.au.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview with the Indigenous Student Programme Coordinator and the Head of Boarding.

Tàlantach Scholarships

for gifted and talented, ourTàlantachScholarships are key to the College's commitment toprovidinglifelong opportunities. Academically capable boys from all backgrounds, including those who are unable to attend the College due to financial reasons, are eligible for these Scholarships.
Covering up to 95% of school fees for the successful applicants, the Tàlantach Scholarships enable students with high academic potential to excel and equips them with the benefits of a world-class independent education.
This substantial scholarship recognises the founding values of our College and the desire to promote academic excellence and diversity.
Applications for our Tàlantach Scholarships are NOW CLOSED.
Please note this scholarship is only available to students currently not enrolled at the College or at another PSA school. All applicants must provide proof of Australian citizenship.
All successful Tàlantach recipients and their families will be means tested annually to determine the percentage of tuition fees to be paid. Dependent on each family's financial situation, the scholarship will cover between 5–95% of tuition fees.
Scotch College is proud to offer these unique Tàlantach Scholarships thanks to the generosity of our donor community.
Students will be required to complete academic testing as part of the selection process.

Supporting documentation includes:
- Latest school reports, plus any NAPLAN reports.
- A letter addressed to the Headmaster outlining why you would like to attend Scotch College.
- A minimum of two referee statements that provide evidence of personal attributes, community contributions, leadership potential and other areas of interest. Nominated referees may be from community organisations, sporting clubs, churches, previous or current school/s, and should not be family members. Ideally these statements will appear on an organisational letterhead, be signed by the referee and include contact details.
- Any certificates, awards, invitations to participate, or other appropriate supporting documentation.

Year 11 Scholarships
For current Scotch College students
Each year Scotch College awards a limited number of scholarships for Year 11 students currently at Scotch College.
This scholarship is available to current Year 11 students at Scotch College, who do not have a father, uncle or grandfather in the Old Scotch Collegians. This scholarship is awarded for academic merit, leadership qualities, co-curricular involvement and achievement in PSA sport.

The PC Anderson Scholarship was established by the Old Scotch Collegians to commemorate the contribution made by PC Anderson as Headmaster.

cholarships cover a third of the fees for Years 11 and 12 and are available to students currently in Year 11. Scholarship funds for Year 11 are paid retrospectively (where applicable) for the successful applicant.

Music Fellowships
Up to six Music Fellowships are offered each year for current and new students entering Year 7, who demonstrate natural musical aptitude and a passion for their practical musical studies.
Music Fellowships are awarded to a musician from any background or experience level, with the College determining which instrument will be offered for future study.
- A 100% remission of the annual music tuition fees for the allocated instrument until the end of Year 12.
- A 100% remission of the annual instrument hire charges for the allocated instrument (only for the first year of the fellowship).
Scotch College expects fellowship recipients to maintain a high level of musical proficiency and set an example to others in the Scotch community.

Bursaries and financial assistance
Bursaries are open to all current students to help families in need with paying their son's fees.
In all cases, the financial circumstances of the family are taken into consideration. Applications can be made in confidence to the Headmaster.

Gardner Bequest were set up to support the enrolment of sons and grandsons of Old Scotch Collegians
